The theme of "purple heart" is that of military inspired items that have been touched by outdoor elements (distressing, shredding, damaged, wear and tear). 

They are worn in, they have been left out in the sun. They have been forgotten by some, but not all. 

We're honoring their place in history; and do so with the intention of showing respect while merging them into a modern era.
